1. Choose Three (3) Courses from the Christian Education section under Description of
Courses.
2. Choose any Seven (7) additional courses from courses listed under Description of
Courses.
Note 1: If the student has not taken BS 613 The Gifts and The Calling of God,
CE 623 Introduction to Education, CE 633 Educational Psychology, CE 6153
Assertive Discipline, CE 653 Early Childhood Growth and Development, or CE 673
Recovering The Lost Tools of Learning, he or she must take these courses at this time.
In addition, if the student has had no experience in Teaching, he or she must do CE
613 Teaching Practicum.
Note 2: In order to receive a Doctorate in Christian Education, a student must have
a minimum of thirty-six (36) hours in Education.
Note 3: If the degree reads “Doctor of Christian Education”, a dissertation is
required.

DOCTOR OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
1. Choose Three (3) Courses from the Religious Education section under Description of
Courses.
2. Choose any Seven (7) additional courses from courses listed under Description of
Courses.
Note 1: If the student has not taken BS 613 The Gifts and The Calling of God, RE 623
Introduction to Youth Ministry, RE633 Children’s Ministry Leadership, RE643
Children’s Ministry That Works he or she must take these courses at this time. In
addition, if the student has no experience in working in children’s ministry, he or
she must do RE 613 Children’s Ministry Practicum.
Note 2: In order to receive a Doctorate in Religious Education, a student must have
a minimum of thirty-six (36) hours in Religious Education.
Note 3: If the degree reads “Doctor of Religous Education”, a dissertation is
required.
