DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY IN CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
1. Choose Three (3) Courses from the Christian Education section under Description of
Courses.
2. Choose any Seven (7) additional courses from courses listed under Description of
Courses.
Note 1: If the student has not taken BS613 The Gifts and The Calling of God,
CE623 Introduction to Education, CE633 Educational Psychology, CE643 Assertive
Discipline, CE653 Early Childhood Growth and Development, or CE673 Recovering
The Lost Tools of Learning, he or she must take these courses at this time. In
addition, if the student has had no experience in Teaching, he or she must do CE613
Teaching Practicum.
Note 2: In order to receive a Doctor of Philosophy in Christian Education, a student
must have a minimum of forty-five (45) hours in Education.

Courses.
2. Choose any Seven (7) additional courses from courses listed under Description of
Courses.
Note 1: If the student has not taken BS 613 The Gifts and The Calling of God, RE 623
Introduction to Youth Ministry, RE633 Children’s Ministry Leadership, RE643
Children’s Ministry That Works he or she must take these courses at this time. In
addition, if the student has no experience in working in children’s ministry, he or
she must do RE 613 Children’s Ministry Practicum.
Note 2: In order to receive a Doctor of Philosophy in Religious Education, a student
must have a minimum of forty-five (45) hours in Religious Education.
